Overview

The old Silk Route or Silk Road which goes through different spots of east Sikkim like SilleryGaon, ReshiKhola, Rhenock, Rongli, Aritar, Mankhim, Lingtam, Zuluk, Padamchen, and Gnathang valley is a piece of the old organization of shipping lanes which associated China to India. The Silk Route in Sikkim is a branch-off of the old shipping lane which came from Lhasa, getting Chumbi Valley and going through Nathula to arrive at the port of Tamluk in West Bengal at last. The principal thought which strikes us subsequent to hearing the word Silk Route is that it should be a course where silk used to be imported or sent out yet truly it was ponies, fleece and teas that was exchanged through the Silk Route. Presently the Silk Route is an unconventional excursion through the semi-secret town of East Sikkim.
